Pancakes are a great breakfast or even dinner meal. The only challenge with pancakes is that they are made with many ingredients that increase your carbohydrate levels. Not generally a problem unless you're watching your carb intake for health or weight loss reasons.

There is a solution if you're a pancake lover. Low carb pancakes offer a healthy and delicious alternative to your pancake dilemma. Low carb pancakes are made with protein powder or some type of low carb flour in place of the usual white flour. To further decrease carbohydrates in your low carb pancakes, use whole fruits instead of jam, or sugar free syrup. Butter shouldn't be an issue since real butter is a dairy product and should be low in carbs already. If you're not up to the hassle of making your own Low carb pancakes from scratch, there are a few brands of mixes that can be purchased from various grocers or online.

These mixes get great reviews and take the work out of making homemade low carb pancakes. One favorite low carb breakfast might include low carb pancakes, eggs or egg whites, turkey sausage or turkey ham, cottage cheese and berries with low-fat yogurt. Mm..... sounds delicious doesn't it? Using various low carb recipes to find the one you like the best will be helpful, Not everyone enjoys the taste of protein powder but almond flour may be something that you enjoy.

If almonds aren't something you can eat, whole wheat flour or corn meal also offer good alternatives to the higher carbohydrate white flour. Isn't it great to know that eating a low carb breakfast doesn't mean you have to skip out on pancakes? What a relief for those who love to eat pancakes.
